The role you’ll contribute:
The Quality & Outcomes Manager is part of the Quality Management Leadership team and reports to the Administrative Director of Quality, Risk and Safety. This position promotes the organizational goals and vision of performance improvement and quality outcomes. This position has primary responsibility for facilitating and implements regulatory and voluntarily data collection and submission requirements. Works with the Medical staff coordinate QI / peer review activities.

- Responsible for management of assigned direct reports: recruitment, hiring, coaching/ disciplinary, development, education and competencies, payroll functions and documentation of these activities.
- Utilizes the PI Model
- Participates with leaders from SMMC and medical staff in planning, promoting and facilitating organization-wide performance improvement and quality outcomes activities.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission Accreditation Standards and CMS CoP and assists with readiness and compliance efforts
- Knowledge of and utilizes statistical approaches, measurement techniques, including benchmark and comparative data to develop quality reports.
- Ensures accuracy of data collection and submission; validates integrity of data collected.
- Develops data reports for projects, committees, hospital departments, medical staff departments, as designated.
- Collects, aggregates, analyzes, summarizes and reports quality data for hospital organizational performance and physician performance data as indicates.
- Monitors the peer review process included case reviews, FPPE/OPPE/ reappointment profiles for timeliness, accuracy, and effectiveness.
- Proactively seeks opportunities/mechanisms aimed at continually improving patient care, safety, and outcomes
- Recommends and facilitates change to improve based on identified risks.
- Facilitates the creation of an effective action plans in response to identified patient care and outcome issues
- Responsible for follow through and oversight for completion and actions plans relating to quality and outcomes, including follow up measures of effectiveness.
- Co-leads the Organizational Quality Improvement Committee with the department Director
- Facilitates and manages the development the hospital and department balanced scorecards
