We currently have a full-time opportunity available for an Infection Control Coordinator to join our Patient Care Services team.
Reporting to the Director of Patient Care Services, the successful candidate supervises hospital–wide infection control activities and works collaboratively with medical, administrative and interdisciplinary management staff to achieve maximal employee/patient infection and exposure control.
Key responsibilities include:
Working collaboratively with the Infectious Disease Physician.
Coordinating and conducting infection control education to all staff as appropriate.
Conducting surveillance rounds and presenting findings, prevention and control recommendations to Infection Control Committee.
Organizing and maintaining computerized systems to ensure regular, accurate tracking and reporting of Infection Control Data.
Providing surveillance data and analysis for prevention and support of evidence-based practice.
Actively participating and initiating innovation, quality assurance and performance improvement.
Requires current California Registered Nurse License, and program management experience. Must have knowledge of and comply with CDC Guidelines for Infection Control, The Joint Commission accreditation, California Department of Public Health (CDPH) standards, and Cal OSHA regulations. The ability to plan, organize and direct a variety of hospital wide activities; gather, collate and analyze data; effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms; creatively problem solve; and educate a broad range of professional and non-professional personnel is essential. BSN and solid computer skills required. Certification in Infection Prevention and Control is preferred.
