You will work as the National Quality Assurance Manager providing executive leadership and direct supervision for the division of Quality Assurance, which includes the direction and coordination of organizational quality management, quality control of clinical supplies (manufactured, packaged, labeled, and centrally distributed), regulatory and clinical compliance (with regard to regulatory requirements and adverse medical events), and biopharmaceutics and quality control laboratory activities supporting national and international multicenter clinical trials in VHA's Office of Research and Development Cooperative Studies Program. Duties include, but are not limited to: Coordinating efforts to attain certification/accreditations in quality management systems, and developing/maintaining quality assurance procedures and documentation that supports the certification and accreditation processes. Serving as a full member of the Cooperative Studies Program (CSP) and Pharmacy Coordinating Center (PCC) made up of the Medical Center Director and four Associate Center Directors, which is responsible for the quality management, operational, and scientific direction of the PCC in support of CSP multicenter clinical trials. Collaborating with PCC and CSP Executives, multicenter clinical trial personnel, pharmaceutical industry, universities, and other federal agencies to monitor quality and patient safety within the CSP and its collaborators. Developing and implementing goals, objectives, action plans, and process improvement strategies at PCC. Reviewing performance measures, multiple ISO standards, Baldrige Criteria, Joint Commission standards, and other quality data for trends and early intervention. Applying quality improvement methods, collecting outcome data related to policy, standard operating procedures, approved methods, procedures, regulatory compliance, and initiating performance improvement monitoring projects. Utilizing data and comparative analytical processes in recommending design and implementation of innovative programs to improve service excellence, customer satisfaction and engagement, employee satisfaction and engagement, compliance with regulatory and industry standards and the safety of studying specific Research Health Care Treatment Models and Research Centralized Direct to Patient Dispensing Models.
