Vanderbilt University Medical Center is recruiting for a senior level position to lead our Patient Flow Center. The person in this position will be responsible for our transfer center (patients transferring into VUMC from other hospitals ), bed management, patient transport, decedent affairs, and for our administrative coordinators. We are seeking a relationship-builder, since this position interfaces with every clinical department.
The person in this role will be responsible for 120 employees overall. Those reporting directly to this leader will be four people managers and three individual contributors.
This associate director reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer of Vanderbilt University Hospital.
During the first year, you will be expected to:
Develop and begin executing on a strategic plan for the department
Successfully implement strategies and tactics to expand the patient flow center's role to include other parts of VUMC off the main campus
Work in collaboration with other VUMC leaders and stakeholders to develop Standard Operating Procedures to ensure the efficient and successful operation of all functional areas in the center.
Launch new service offerings successfully through thoughtful planning and communication inside and outside of the VUMC organization.
