This position involves overall management of operations and staff including:
Ensuring programs policies and procedures, including grants, comply with Hospital, Federal, State and Civil Rights guidelines
Preparing and submitting plans, budgets, policies/procedures and payroll in a timely manner
Safeguarding universal access and the overall environment
Guiding, assisting and training all levels of staff, especially supervisory
Demonstrating tactical competence regarding Nutrition Services for the ages of patients served
Monitoring adequate staffing and caseload management
Managing the Farmers Market Nutrition, Enhanced Peer Counseling Grant, Breast Pump and Healthy Lifestyle Programs
The qualified professional must have:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutritional Science, Community Nutrition, Clinical or Human Nutrition, Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition or Public Health Nutrition, from a regionally accredited college or university or one recognized by the New York State Education Department
At least 5 years’ administrative experience in Nutrition Services, including at least 2 directly in a WIC Clinic
Prior experience working with low income and culturally diverse populations
Minimum 1 year of teaching experience
Effective verbal and written communications, analysis, quality service and organizational planning skills
Knowledge of general business management and budgeting, as well as the development of training materials
Second language skills in French/Creole or Spanish highly desirable
