Vanderbilt University Medical Center is hiring a full-time Clinical Team Leader to work in our multi-disciplinary Dayani Center. Our center is home to rehabilitation based programs including physical therapy, lymphedema therapy, aquatic rehab, cardiac rehab, and pulmonary rehab. Our medical fitness facility is for adults recovering from or managing medical conditions by addressing whole body needs. We offer unique approaches to health care including a warm water therapy pool, track, gym, as well as one-on-one therapy sessions with our patients.
JOB SUMMARY:
This Clinical Team Leader (CTL) will supervise a team of cardiac and pulmonary rehab providers and the Dayani Medical Fitness staff. The CTL will actively participate in overall management of these departments, development of clinical practice standards, and provision of patient-focused delivery of care and services. The CTL will be accountable for implementation and outcomes for goals associated with people, leadership, quality, service, compliance, finance, throughput and scheduling. The CTL ensures the departments' optimal performance by engaging in effective problem solving and root cause analysis to maximize efficiencies and meet performance standards. Additional responsibilities include providing feedback and coaching to staff members, recognizing them for their contributions, and fostering a high-performance culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise day to day performance of assigned staff members: Cardiac Rehab Staff (RNs, Exercise Specialists), Pulmonary Rehab Staff (RTs), and Medical Fitness Staff (Exercise specialists, Group Fitness Instructors).
- Assess and coach staff to achieve goals.
- Complete formal evaluation of direct reports.
- Support leadership team in development of staff members by providing substantive feedback.
- Demonstrate clinical and technical knowledge to coach staff on day-to-day activities.
- Provide direct patient care within the cardiac rehab, pulmonary rehab, and medical fitness programs on a weekly basis.
- Implement rehab specific policies and practice guidelines in accordance with VUMC policy and regulatory standards using standardized tools and instruments.

Position Qualifications
Required
- Graduate of an approved discipline specific program and 5 years relevant experience with no substitution of experience to satisfy the minimum education requirement permitted.
- Beyond the education and relevant experience requirement, an advanced clinical certification within 12month of start date will be expected to be obtained
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years of clinical experience in an Outpatient Rehab Setting as one of the following: Registered Nurse (RN), Respiratory Therapist (RT) or Exercise Specialist (ES)with a minimum of one advanced certification listed below
- 1-3 Years of Leadership Experience
Preferred Qualifications - Advanced Certifications
- ACSM- Certified Exercise Physiologist
- ACSM- Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist or Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist
- AACVPR- Certified Cardiac Rehab Professional (CCRP)
