Chief Medical Officer at Family Health Center in Kalamazoo, MI
Cejka Search has been exclusively retained by Family Health Center, a federally-qualified health center (FQHC) in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to assist in the recruitment of a Chief Medical Officer.
Created in 1971 to address the unmet needs of an ethnically and socially diverse patient base in Kalamazoo County, Family Health Center (FHC) currently provides quality health care to approximately 50,000 patients each year. FHC provides a complete compliment of medical, dental and behavioral health services across five high-quality health care facilities, plus mobile health and dental clinics. Strongly supported by community leaders and organizations, Family Health Center engages with local hospitals, health systems, and schools throughout the area to ensure all residents are afforded access to excellent health care, regardless of income level or insurance benefits.
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) maintains broad responsibility for all aspects of the clinical operation - ensuring effective, efficient and appropriate delivery of the highest quality of care. The CMO oversees a care delivery team of 11 board-certified physicians in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology and dentistry, and 12 mid-level providers, with responsibility for the recruitment and mentorship of staff, community relations, quality initiatives and the development and implementation of innovative, high quality and cost effective clinical programs and services. This includes assessing and upgrading existing medical care standards; providing management, leadership and coaching to all medical staff and related staff employed at clinic sites; and working with operating and executive team members to implement new operating processes and systems. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CMO serves as an active member of the senior leadership team, and will participate in defining, supporting and executing the strategic plans and vision of the organization.
Qualified candidates will be proven physician leaders in the ambulatory or public community health setting - with experience developing and implementing standards of care; medical protocols; quality assurance standards and monitoring; and new clinic operating processes and systems aimed at improving efficiency. The CMO will demonstrate a track record of success in recruitment, retention and provider engagement. A medical degree (MD or DO), current board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Pediatrics and the ability to obtain an unrestricted medical license in the state of Michigan are required.
