The Director of Institute Outcomes & Value is responsible for the integration of Institute quality, cost, and outcomes across the continuum of care including Acute Care Services (ACS) and Integrated Health Services (IHS) in the Central Florida Division - South (CFD-S) Region. Partners with clinical and physician leadership across the continuum to develop, implement, and monitor strategies to improve clinical performance including: clinical registries, quality & safety outcomes, payor publicly reported metrics, regulatory compliance, accreditations & certifications, and cost reduction initiatives. The Director leads the development and implementation of care transformation initiatives to improve quality and decrease the cost of care. The Director develops the strategies to achieve clinical outcome performance aligned with the organizational and Institute strategic priorities. Responsible for overseeing compliance with Federal (CMS), State (AHCA) and national society guidelines to ensure compliance with all specialty service line regulatory requirements. Consulted across the enterprise of AdventHealth (corporate) as subject matter experts to assist facilities in standardizing care delivery, improving clinical outcomes and decreasing the cost of care. The Director actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Advanced knowledge of CMS, DNV and State Regulatory requirements for specialty clinical programs(Preferred)
Knowledge of clinical registries, such as but not limited to: American College of Cardiology (ACC) National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR), American College of Surgeons (ACoS) National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP), Get with the Guidelines (GWTG), and Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) Database, National Cancer Database (NCDB), American Joint Replacement Registry (AJRR) or National Neurosurgery Quality Outcomes Database (N2QOD) (Preferred)
Quality improvement knowledge include but not limited to CMS outcomes, Value Based Purchasing, Bundle Payment, NHSN Outcomes and other quality improvement initiatives(Preferred)
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration related field.
Master's degree in nursing/ healthcare administration related field (Preferred)
Eight (8) years of experience working in large healthcare systems in specialty service lines such as: cardiovascular, neurosurgery, oncology, general surgery or critical care areas
Three (3) years progressive leadership experience in healthcare field
Two (2) years in quality, process improvement or project management
Experience working in population health or care management settings (Preferred)
Experience working within a health insurance plan or value-based contracting (Preferred)
Experience with national clinical registries and outcomes management (Preferred)
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) (Preferred)
Certification in a Performance Improvement methodology such as: Lean, Six Sigma, Change Management, and/or Institute of Healthcare Improvement (IHI) (Preferred)

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Directs the integration of quality, outcomes and cost improvement efforts for the Institute across the integrated delivery network, including ACS and IHS in areas including but not limited to: population health, hospital campuses, ambulatory care settings (infusion center, etc.), post-acute care settings (home health, hospice, etc.), and physician practices.
Direct responsibility for ensuring positive physician relationships through collaboration and communication on strategic outcome initiatives to build necessary clinical infrastructure, remove barriers, optimize clinical processes, and resolve potential conflicts.
Leads the development, execution and oversight of the quality and value committee structure within the Institute, in collaboration with physician leadership, to drive clinical improvement and decrease of the cost of care through development of care transformation and performance improvement initiatives.
Responsible for monitoring performance of physician related contractual agreements to ensure accountabilities are being met and value is realized from organizational financial investments.
Responsible for hiring and retaining qualified Institute Value personnel through effective job design, recruitment, retention, development, and performance management programs and processes; promotes teamwork in a professional and positive environment.
Responsible for overseeing state (AHCA), Department of Health and federal (CMS) requirements for specialty services to ensure compliance across the system; Responsible for maintaining knowledge of current and proposed regulatory changes to determine impact to organizational operations and structure.
Responsible for overseeing DNV and ISO requirements for specialty service lines.
Directs implementation and monitoring of specialty service line accreditations in partnership with clinical and operational leaders to further the journey of becoming a national healthcare leader.
OPERATING & CAPITAL BUDGET/FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Functional budget responsibility for Institute cost centers assigned across CFD-S.
Manages within annual budgets assigned and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses.
STRATEGIC PLANNING RESPONSIBILITY:
Researches and forecasts upcoming changes related to quality, outcomes and spaces that relate to the Institute; develops plan in collaboration with Institute and clinical leadership to proactively meet these changes including talent recruitment or staffing model changes.
Responsible for implementing strategic plan developed by Institute leadership to meet organizational imperatives for assigned Institute.
PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for leading the Institute in the development of plans to achieve top decile performance in quality, outcomes and cost across the care continuum.
Leads Care Transformation for the Institute across the continuum (ACS & IHS) to standardize care, improve quality and reduce of the cost of care.
Leads the redesign of clinical process and outcomes to meet and exceed value-based payor contracts to increase number of covered lives within the IDN.
Responsible for leading the public reporting of registry and clinical outcomes across the Institutes to increase national reputation and national hospital ranking scores.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS RESPONSIBILITY:
Engages in public speaking events on behalf of AdventHealth Orlando Institutes
Develops content and clinical outcomes for AdventHealth Annual Reports to share improvements and successes both locally and nationally.
Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and strategic objectives.
Attracts, develops and retains high-performing personnel. Recruits leaders and team members with appropriate expertise to deliver on strategic priorities and to ensure succession planning.
Provides leadership oversight for Institute Quality & Registry Manager(s), Program Managers, Regulatory & Safety Managers, Analytics and Performance Improvement Managers.
