Good Samaritan Medical Center is a 234-bed Level II trauma center located in Lafayette, Colorado, northwest of Denver. Growth has been significant since our opening in December 2004 with increased admissions by 66 percent and surgeries by 47 percent between 2005 and 2012. In response to this growth, GSMC has expanded the capacity of many of its services in partnership with Kaiser Permanente Colorado and our community provider partners. Our premier services include Level II Trauma, the cancer center, a Heart and Neurovascular Center, a Primary Stroke Center, and Integrative Health and Healing Center, a baby-friendly birthing center, and emergency services. Good Samaritan is part of SCL Health, a faith-based, nonprofit healthcare organization that focuses on person-centered care. Our mission is to bring health and hope to the poor, the vulnerable, our communities and each other. We’re especially proud of our people, who helped make us one of Healthgrades 2019 America’s 50 Best Hospitals.
As Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer you would report to the Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for SCL Health and matrix to the President of Good Samaritan Medical Center. You will interface closely with the other care site CNOs across the health system to advance clinical integration, leverage our skill and scale and to promote appropriate standardization and “systemness” of SCL Health. The cornerstone of this role is the development of meaningful relationships and ongoing dialogue and communication with leaders and hospital medical staff, working in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to improve clinical outcomes; the ultimate result being the achievement of the “ideal patient experience” coupled with providing an engaging environment for all to practice cohesively in the provision of care. Another major aspect of this role will be working with our key partners in the market, including Kaiser Permanente/Colorado Permanente Medical Group.
Benefits are one of the ways we encourage health for you and your family. Our generous package includes medical, dental and vision coverage. But health is more than a well-working body: it encompasses body, mind and social well-being. To that end, we’ve launched a Healthy Living program to address your holistic health as well. The executive package also includes a 401(k) with matching program, Supplemental Executive Retirement Plan (SERP), and annual incentive plan. To model a balanced life, our executives are encouraged to take time off and receive a front-loaded Paid Time Off allocation each year.
As the Chief Nursing Officer for Good Samaritan Medical Center, you will set the vision for nursing practice as you focus on overall quality of care, patient safety, patient and family experience, standards of care, leadership development, succession planning, and fiscal responsibility while adhering to Ethical and Religious Directives. You will consistently and effectively operationalize the competencies outlined by the Association of Nurse Leaders (AONL).
