We are actively seeking a senior Human Resources leader for a regional Human Resources Officer position with oversight of our Western region (Manhattan, Westchester and Staten Island). This is an important strategic role for the health system, and we are seeking a dynamic leader to help execute against larger system initiatives, driving employee engagement, supporting our Culture of Care, and exemplifying our core values of integrity, respect, and compassion.
The Regional VP of HR position will be based at Lenox Hill Hospital, on Manhattan's Upper East Side. It has in its purview a team of 50 HR professional (across sites), 13,500 employees, and 7 facilities.
The Regional HR Officer will represent the collaborative vision of executive leadership in planning, developing and overseeing implementation and integration of the Health System's overall Human Resources policies, strategies, and operational standards. This leader will drive, guide, and facilitate innovation, change and transformation to build a culture of extraordinary service and effective leadership. Develops and implements strategies to build leadership capabilities and employee engagement to reach Health System’s strategic goals.
Strategic Management: The regional leader will be responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures supporting the Health System's mission and future strategic plans, and will oversee the organization of system-wide policies, processes and programs to link Human Resources strategies with other business strategies. Other crucial strategic aspects of the role will include maximizing employee engagement, building leadership capabilities, growing market share and revenue generation, controlling expenses, improving efficiencies through performance improvement initiatives and technology system improvements (IS).
Financial Management: The Regional HR Officer will be responsible for planning, measuring and coordinating financial policies and practices to control revenues and conserve assets across the Health System through the development of fiscal objectives and financial strategies.
Operational Performance: The role will have responsibility for the development and implementation of an organizational plan to support the accomplishment of long range objectives through establishment of performance measures of the Western region, and will mandate and ensure level of service, quality and accessibility at the lowest possible cost and the highest patient and employee satisfaction levels.
Technology: The Regional HR Officer will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing current and future needs assessments of equipment, systems and software to ensure optimal service outcomes.
Other key aspects of the role will be HR development, standards compliance, and business development. The ideal candidate will be in possession of a Master’s degree or higher, and a minimum of twelve years of progressive leadership responsibilities. Experience in union environments highly desirable.
