This Senior Associate Attorney position will require a high level of Physician Arrangements expertise. The Senior Associate Attorney is an experienced, high level legal specialist who has primary accountability for the provision of specialized legal services and:
Maintains knowledge of and advises senior level leadership on a broad scope of federal, state and local statutes and regulations related to complex healthcare, corporate, medical staff, regulatory, contract, labor, and medical malpractice matters
Analyzes complex legal issues and provides advice regarding the legal implications of proposed and existing policies and practices, complex transactions, business development and other high risk areas to ensure administrative and operational objectives are met
Provides legal counsel for litigation involving the health system
Develops and reviews complex contracts and assists Senior Leadership with complex contract negotiation and development
Education: 7 or more years formal education; J.D. Degree
Experience: 7 or more years as an attorney practicing in house with a health system or hospital
License: Admission as a member of the Florida bar within one (1) year of hire.
Ability to conduct complex legal research, analyze case law, and provide legal guidance/recommendations regarding complex issues
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops
Knowledge of various types of contracts
Ability to handle confidential and highly sensitive issues
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and developing legal issues in area of expertise
Highly developed oral and written communication skills
Strong Interpersonal and ability to use various mediums to communicate with different groups
Ability to draft legal documents, such as pleadings, affidavits, and position statements.
