Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Chief Quality Officer (CCO). This is an outstanding opportunity for talented physician executive to partner with key physicians and operational leaders to provide an overall clinical perspective for network-wide quality initiatives. The Chief Quality Officer (CQO) will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer, Tony Farah, MD, who is recognized national both as a cardiologist and as a physician executive.
The Chief Quality Officer will provide leadership and vision in the development and implementation of a robust quality management and measurement structure across the system’s ambulatory and inpatient services, through planning, and execution of initiatives in the areas of Quality Improvement, Performance Excellence, Regulatory Compliance, Patient Safety, and Infection Prevention. S/he will ensure high-quality clinical outcomes for patients served, with a keen focus on patient-centered care and quality outcomes designed to drive higher levels of performance. This individual will provide oversight for developing a consistent approach to quality measurement and drive a culture of shared best practices throughout the network, regardless of patient care location. The CQO will also partner with key leaders within Highmark as it relates to join quality and system-wide quality transformation efforts.
He or she will have a demonstrated understanding of quality measures for inpatient and outpatient settings with a focus on continuum-of-care quality initiatives, including a strong understanding of the complexity of moving patients and health information across settings of care. He or she will have a working and applied knowledge of performance improvement methodologies, and will be able to translate broad strategies into specific tactical objectives. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible medical management experience leading a highly performing quality team within a multi-hospital and/or healthcare delivery system. A medical degree with board certification is required, with a graduate degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health or other related discipline preferred.
