Job Summary The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of technology systems and participates with the Executive Management Team to manage and grow the company through the use of technology, working together to set and meet strategic goals. In addition, the CTO will direct, manage, and oversee all Information Technology departments including but not limited to Architecture, Network Topology, System Administration, Security Administration, Application Development and Help Desk support.
Identifies and oversees the development, implementation, administration and support of company-wide technologies, and their associated expectations, standards, and/or initiatives. Maintains a detailed working knowledge of current business and organizational practices.
Oversee the staff and ensure adequate staffing levels, inclusive of hiring/onboarding, evaluating, managing performance, coaching and developing employees ensuring employee productivity, quality of work, and alignment of goals with our mission, vision, and values. Ensure compliance with all policies, financial stewardship by being accountable for the financial integrity around development and maintenance of department budget/objectives.
Implements the technical vision while developing and implementing appropriate technological strategies encompassing people, process, data and technology.
Provides leadership, coaching and performance management to all departments within the information technology organization. Lead and manage others to analyze, evaluate, and propose network, security, telecommunications, storage, development, database and technology architecture changes including but not limited to hardware, software, security protocols, and topology.
Manages and serves as escalation point for the Security Officer, Security Administrator roles along with enterprise-wide architecture, system administration, application development, help desk support, data integration, application support, database administration, network administration, and web development teams. Supports deployment of IT tools to clinical end users, including normalization and validation of clinical data, and work flow.
Investigates and analyzes new ideas, insights, and technologies that promote open innovation and growth in line with organizational objectives and goals. Keeps abreast of new technologies, identifies opportunities to significantly enhance business performance, and adopts new technologies and processes to facilitate change.
Participates in vendor contracting processes. Identifies opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources. Develops and communicates business case justifications, risk assessments and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending.
Develops a strong network with external customers, similar organizations, members and other executives, creates executive presence within strategic organizations/vendors, and represents the company in the industry through speaking engagements, site visits, learning sessions and reference calls
Establishes and ensures a complete security plan is in place which protects the availability, integrity and privacy of the IT infrastructure and the data stored and communicated within. Ensures all regulations are maintained including but not limited to HIPAA, and establishes process ensuring compliance. Serve as the Executive leading the careful development and release of policies and procedures. Facilitates, contributes to and maintains policies and procedures for internal staff as well as for third party data contributors and end-users of systems.
Proactively plan for, attend, and facilitate IT Committee meetings. Prepare for and support All Member Meetings, and any other Executive/Organizational meetings.
Participates in Executive Team meetings to develop and implement technical strategic plans and operational goals. Works exclusively on division initiatives and business tasks.
