The Senior Vice President, Physician Services Division (SVP, PSD) is a new position for Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) that will play a key leadership role in the HMH physician enterprise strategy to provide vision, develop strategy, implement and monitor processes, make recommendations for improvements, oversee implementation of initiatives that support high-quality and sound financial performance, and demonstrate innovations to patient care delivery to successfully position HMH as the provider of choice in the market. The Physician Services Division currently includes ~1,000 employed physicians (more than 2,000, including contracted physicians).
Under the direction of the President, Care Transformation Services and Physician Practices, the SVP, PSD is responsible for:
Administration of the HMHMG Physician Services Division (Hackensack University Medical Group; Meridian Medical Group, Palisades Medical Associates, JFK Medical Associates, Primary Care Network, Faculty Practices, Private Clients, JSUMC Family Health Center, and other assigned community and hospital-based physician services) to achieve operating and financial objectives and promote the transformation and advancement of the HMHMG physician practices to a high performing integrated enterprise.
Providing leadership, direction and oversight of the business administration and operations of the physician practice division, including all operating of capital budgets, revenue cycle, management and financial reporting systems and physician compensation programs.
Providing leadership and direction of all aspects of the Physician Services Division with responsibilities for Practice Operations, Financial Services, Revenue Cycle Services, Physician Recruitment, Quality and Outcomes, Information Technology, Human Resources, Marketing/Communications and Patient Experience goals.
The roles and responsibilities of the PSD leader should support the design, management and advancement of Care Transformation Services across the HMH system.
The Senior Vice President, Physician Services Division will serve as an active member of the senior leadership team for HMH and will be principally accountable for the division. This executive will be a strategic thought leader, a strong operator and someone that can take on additional responsibilities over time.
Ten years in healthcare leadership roles. Preferably five years at the corporate or regional level.
Experience managing complex multi-specialty physician practice operations. Broad experience across hospital, physician practice and health plan operations and experience working with groups with more than 500 clinicians.
Experience in a highly matrixed environment; effectiveness in a complex system of distributed leadership.
Medical degree preferred, but not required. Master's degree in business administration or healthcare administration is a plus.
