Works under the supervision of the VP. Responsible for budgeting and managing all aspects of the hospital based Physician Practices in the departments of the Hospitalists, Intensivists, ER, Infectious Disease and Anesthesia, to meet or exceed department, hospital, and regulatory requirements while ensuring the provision of cost-effective, quality patient care for all customers.
Manages and supports the day-to-day clinical operations of physicians to ensure provision of timely, cost-effective patient care that is in compliance with regulatory, department, and hospital goals. Manages ongoing cost-effective department operations. This includes recruiting, selecting and managing physicians to ensure quality patient care in compliance with department, hospital, and department clinical and administrative services.
Provides the vision and strategic plan for the Physician Services & Outreach programs in order to ensure that the needs and desired of the communities are met and that the units reflects the highest level of quality customer care.
Maintains current knowledge of physician practices, including keeping current with national, state, and regional standards for physician practice care. Develops and implements a continuing education process for physicians. The incumbent has the ultimate responsibility for the quality initiatives and manages the development and implementation of customer service initiatives.
Education: Master's degree in HealthCare Administration, Finance or MBA preferred, or the equivalent experience in the same or related field.
Licensure: None required
Experience: Requires management experience with 5 to 10 years of increasing responsibility with Physician Practice Management experience with a preference of oversight of multiple sites or integrated healthcare delivery systems, ACMPE or CMPE designation is desirable.
Skills: Strong communication skills, a demonstrated passion for service oriented patient care. Creative abilities and unique approaches to problem solving. Financial management skills along with ability to analyze and interpret data in the management of assigned service areas. Experienced in establishment and use of benchmarking, Experienced with Patient Satisfaction or the patient centered experience
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Is accountable for own conduct and professionalism. Able to support positive working relationship and professional rapport with administration, physicians, nursing directors, staff, patients, family members, and visitors. Maintains confidentiality of patient care and departmental information.
Hours of Work: Variable. Primarily day hours with occasional evening hours. Minimal weekend or holiday work.
