Anoka-Metro Regional Treatment Center (AMRTC) is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated individual to join our team as Director of Nursing (DON). AMRTC is a secure inpatient psychiatric hospital serving adults with mental illness in a large, campus-based setting. The population also includes individuals civilly committed for specialized care, such as competency for criminal court (Rule 20), emergency 48-hour bed holds, and co-occurring mental illness/chemical dependency. Located just 15 minutes north of the Twin Cities metro, this modern facility offers compassionate, person-centered care in a pleasant environment appreciated by patients and employees alike.
The Director of Nursing is a professional nurse who has knowledge and skills in leadership, treatment and programming methods and options, as well as program design. The DON participates with leaders from the executive and clinical areas in the facility strategic planning and decision-making structure and processes. This position includes the authority and responsibility to plan, organize, lead, and control quality patient care that is compassionate, culturally competent, cost-effective, and efficient.
The DON develops facility-wide patient care programs and is responsible to create, implement, and maintain policies and procedures that determine how patient treatment needs are assessed, evaluated, and met, as well as to ensure the delivery of quality care to patients. The person in this position also develops and oversees the implementation of the facility plan for providing treatment to the inpatient treatment units, including services provided by Bed Management, Control Desk, Nursing Education and Infection Control Office.

Master’s degree in Nursing OR Advanced Practice Certification
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Minnesota; OR currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in another state and must obtain Minnesota licensure within six (6) months of hire date
Three (3) years of progressive supervisory experience in a large healthcare setting
Master's degree in Psychiatric Nursing
Certification as a psychiatric/mental health nurse
