The Senior Patient Safety /Risk Manager lead and facilitate all levels of activity associated with the patient safety and clinical risk management program. Oversees health care risk management and patient safety foundational elements such as safety post review and investigation. In depth investigations of cases that may require root cause or apparent cause analyses as well as facilitation of root cause and apparent cause analyses and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA). This position leads projects identified through safety posts, common causes, industry trends or other means. The Senior Patient Safety /Risk Manager assists peers through the orientation process, leads disclosure just time training with colleagues, and develops strong relationships with key leaders throughout the network.

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or a clinically related field of study from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Education: - Master's Degree in Risk Management, Patient Safety, Healthcare Administration or a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
4 plus years of risk management and/or patient safety experience in an acute care facility.
5 plus years of clinical experience in an acute care setting.
Certification through a National Accreditation Board in Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM) or Patient Safety (CPPS) is required.
Incumbents must obtain either certification by January 7, 2019 (18 months from addition of certification).
Current licensure is required in applicable field of study. Licensure must be maintained throughout employment.
Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-700.A: National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction or obtain within 30 days of placement in role.
Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-100.HCB: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS 100) for Healthcare/Hospitals or obtain within 30 days of placement in role.
Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-200.HCA: Applying ICS to Healthcare Organizations (ICS 200) or obtain within 30 days of placement in role. Skills or Special Abilities: - Demonstration of solid leadership skills.
Must be organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, interpersonal skills and professional standards.
Must demonstrate exceptional clinical judgement and acumen.
Must be able to handle stressful environments and apply de-escalation techniques when needed.
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple cases or projects simultaneously.
Must have computer skills that include Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and Access. Ability to perform administrative tasks as needed or assigned.
Must have ability to create and maintain organized, confidential and professionally written investigative files consistent with department processes.
Must have high degree of flexibility due to fast paced environment
Must be able to apply professional judgment as needed to prioritize work to achieve a consistent professional written work product and optimal productivity.
