Banner Health has two Physician Executive openings within our Medical Group. We are conducting a national search for innovative Physician Executives that will drive excellence in quality and patient experience, foster a diverse culture, and focus on the growth of a high-quality, customer-obsessed enterprise.
These critical roles will serve as the lead physician executive for Primary Care OR Medical Specialties providing oversight for clinical, customer, and financial performance. We seek compassionate and innovative leaders with proven success leading large physician groups that will serve as a change agent and drive culture to support a consumer centric culture focused on patient safety and the overall patient experience.
The selected candidates will have proven experience leading a collaborative work environment that is focused on the quality of outcomes and superior client service orientation. Most important we seek leaders who truly understand the needs and challenges healthcare is facing today.
These roles will be 50% administrative based on the span and scope of responsibility with the remaining time assigned to clinical duties.
Oversees physician productivity, staffing and recruitment.
Provides physicians with performance feedback and improvement plans, and provides overall clinical oversight.
Convenes and leads physician leadership groups.
Partners closely with regional administrative and clinical leadership teams to achieve clinical and operational excellence.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with other corporate and hospital leaders, including hospital administration, human resources, public relations, risk management, compliance, quality/care management, IT/Informatics, and service excellence.
Assists in coordinating care with any surrounding Banner or Banner Health Network (BHN) facilities by forming partnerships/networks with the leaders of those sites (hospital CMOs, other facility leads, etc.) and ensures cost-effective clinical practices are adhered to. This requires identifying and correcting any adverse trends in the utilization of medical services through the monitoring of appropriate E&M coding and Risk Adjustment Factor (RAF) score improvement as well as referral practices.
Serves on the BMG Medical Executive Council or other leadership/governance structures that may exist and participate in monthly meetings with the BMG compliance team as needed. Oversees the implementation of clinical IT platforms and clinical operating models in the sub-region by representing the organization in the respective planning, prioritization, and status meetings as needed.
Participates on the Clinical Consensus Group that aligns with their specialty training.
Medical Doctorate or Doctor of Osteopathy Degree required with Board Certification or eligibility preferred and level of expertise typically gained through five years of experience in clinical practice.
Must be eligible for or hold a current State license to practice medicine and preferably be eligible for medical staff privileges.
Prior experience in the role of a Medical Director for a large multi-specialty group practice, physician practice management organization, hospital/hospital system, or an MCO (preferably with a physician group practice component) is preferred. Experience with managed care organizations and continuous quality improvement activities preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
