The Director, Infection Prevention and Control for Froedtert Hospital, is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of evidence-based clinical practices designed to achieve the aims of the infection control program at Froedtert Hospital and associated ambulatory clinics. The Director guides and directs the work of the Infection Control department. In addition the Director collaborates with the Infection Control team, other clinical leaders and business partners such as Medical College of Wisconsin to provide leadership oversight for hospital wide infection prevention and control such as carryout of surveillance, management and prevention activities with patients, visitors and staff. The Director, Infection Prevention and Control reports to the FMLH Vice President, Quality, Patient Safety and Performance Improvement and collaborates with key physician and administrative leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of infection prevention and control activities and design systems which improve overall infection control performance and outcomes. Other duties as assigned.
Five years of experience in infection prevention and control is required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in an acute care setting is required. Progressive management experience, preferable in infection control department is required. Experience in setting and achieving strategic goals for the organization is required.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required. Master’s degree in a healthcare related clinical discipline is preferred.
Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). May begin employment under a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact) with the understanding that a Wisconsin RN license must be obtained and maintained. Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is required.
